Yalova has 110 km of coastline with the Sea of Marmara. The city totally measures 83.900 square meters. The two thirds of this space is covered with spacious forests. These forests harbour various kinds of tress such as beech, oak, horn beech, chestnut, cornelian cherry tree and lime tree. Though not common, tress such as bay tree, willow, plane tree, acacia and poplar tree can also be found, in terms of its breadth of forestry spaces and diversity of plants, Yalova is one of the fertile cities in the country. Once on the plain areas, this fertility can also be observed in terms of the production of fruit and vegetables as well as agricultural lands.

Its location in the southeast of the Marmara Region gives the city a unique transitional climatic feature, it has mixture of Mediterranean and Black sea climatic features all year round. It has hot and dry summers. The winters are warm and rainy. It rains more than it snows in Yalova. And the city has an annual average of 14.3 degrees centigrade heat. August is when the heat of the sea is at its highest level with 22.0 degrees centigrade and February is when the sea is the coldest with 7.4 degrees centigrade.
